Thanks for the advice, Kate!
So I’m packing for Asia, and it’s kind of just hitting me that I have NO idea what people wear in Japan or South Korea! It’s probably going to be super hot and for some reason I have it in the back of my head that no one wears shorts in them parts of the world.
Naturally I turned to google and asked the question, “Do people wear shorts in Japan?” The amount of queries on the matter in various countries made me feel a little better about my rookie traveling move.
And at LEAST I’m not the guy who’s just not sure in general if people wear shorts—ever.
Anyways, the first site I went to was some Travel Q&A board and a guy named Tony posed the same question. Halfway through screening the debate I came across the following response.
well I’m a girl but shorts are really fashionable this season on girls A&F and Hollister are selling tons of them. Long “boy-shorts” are fashionable for girls this season as well. I am going to JP in august and plan on wearing shorts a lot.

After reading this, I realized two things.
1) Kate is ***REALLY** stylish, I can just picture her walls peppered with A&F Quarterly black and whites and cut outs of heavily glossed lips pasted around words like ‘FIERCE’ ‘DIVA’ and ‘FASHIONISTA’.
2) This website is bullshit.
